Sentinel 4DCT
A New Benchmark in 4D-CT
CT simulation is becoming increasingly routine in radiation therapy. But patient breathing, as well as tumor or healthy tissue movement, can affect planning, dose delivery, and verification. During regular CT scanning, mobility can cause inaccuracy in target definition, resulting in a moving target appearing distorted in shape and incorrect in location. Irradiating a larger area to cover the tumor may result in healthy tissues receiving unwanted doses.
To improve visualization of moving tumors, 4D-CT is used, which allows determining motion and developing an accurate plan for precision or gated radiotherapy.
C-RAD Sentinel 4DCT is an easy-to-use laser-optical surface scanning system with functionality for 4D-CT reconstruction and gated imaging in the CT room. Additionally, the system allows obtaining reference images for patient positioning and tracking intrafractional shifts during radiation therapy in the treatment room.
Full 4D-CT Support
- Along with retrospective and prospective gating modes, all breath hold, deep inspiration, and controlled/free breathing modes are supported. This provides maximum flexibility to adapt to different patient capabilities and clinical requirements.
- The patient baseline is calculated as an absolute parameter that can be used during treatment.
- Throughout the entire radiation therapy process, the system provides seamless support for 4D-CT simulation, 4D treatment planning, and 4D dose delivery according to treatment phases.
High Level of Patient Safety and User Confidence in Reliable Operation
- No need to mark the patient or place other equipment around them.
- Automatic couch movement in the CT room using the laser tracking system.
- Tracking of thoracic and abdominal respiratory movements in parallel with virtual monitoring.
- Optimal patient breathing pattern is ensured by available audio-visual guidance using built-in headphones and video glasses.
